Shinsei Dojo is a traditional Dojo set right in the heart of the Somerset / Dorset countryside, our mission is to provide and maintain an authentic, traditional, Japanese style Dojo for our local community and to encourage the practice of Aikido and Shinkendo. We are fully insured with the British Aikido Board (B.A.B.).
At Shinsei Dojo and our Aikido school, Tenshi Aikikai, we practice Budo through Traditional Aikido, under War 'Tenshi' Lewis. War is a student of John Burn sensei, following the teachings of Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan, stressing the development of Musubi (Connection), Kazushi (Balance Breaking) and Jin (Internal Strength) within all Tenshi Aikikai students.
We practice not only the Taijutsu aspect of AIkido but also Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan's weapon teachings.
At Shinsei Dojo and our Shinkendo school, Tenshi Shinkendo- kai, we practice Budo through Shinkendo, under War 'Tenshi' Lewis. War is a student of Byron Shepherd sensei, following the teachings of Toshishiro Obata Kaiso, stressing the development of true, honest and effective swordsmanship.
