Shinsei Dojo

Shinsei Dojo is a traditional Dojo set right in the heart of the Somerset / Dorset countryside, our mission is to provide and maintain an authentic, traditional, Japanese style Dojo for our local community and to encourage the practice of Aikido and Traditional Budo.  We are fully insured.

Tenshi Aikikai

At Shinsei Dojo and our Aikido school, Tenshi Aikikai, we practice Budo through Traditional Aikido, under War 'Tenshi' Lewis. Whilst we draw from the knowledge and experience of many great sensei, we follow the teachings of Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan primarily, stressing the development of Jin (Internal Strength) within all Tenshi Aikikai students.

We practice not only the Taijutsu aspect of AIkido but Aiki Weapons also, in the form of the Jo & Bokken.  In addition to the Aiki Weapon sytem developed and maitained by Morihiro Saito sensei from O'sensei's teaching, we also practice Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan's weapon teachings and the Aikibatto system developed by Stefan Stenudd Sensei. 

For Martial Artists

Our dojo is also an ideal place for practitioners of all Budo or traditional martial arts, such as Kenjutsu, Iaido, Karate, Judo, Jiu Jutsu etc. We have also made it affordable to run classes with as few as one student.
