Within Shinsei Dojo we maintain the use of Japanese in as much of our Aikido as possible. We believe this to be important as Japanese is discriptive in its structure so many of the names given to techniques, attacks etc. are a discription of how to execute them. This meens that once the Japanese name is understood it acts as a prompt to help remember the technique. It may seem daunting at first, the thought that you will be learning things in Japanese, however it is alot easier than it sounds and happens as you are learning your Aikido without you realising it.
We are happy to include a glossary, that is organised into alphabetical order, of numerous Japanese terms and phrases.
